Who this policy covers

BillWolfe.me is Bill Wolfe’s personal website, including the Build With God and Build What Lasts essay collections and the resources hosted here. This policy covers this website. Other companies and websites linked here have their own policies.

Information you provide

  • Newsletter and resource requests: your email address, a subscriber identifier, and a signup date are stored when you subscribe or request a resource such as the Mission Map.
  • Contact messages: the contact form collects your name, email address, and the message you choose to send. These details are delivered by email so Bill can respond.
  • Other correspondence: information you include when you communicate with Bill may become part of that correspondence.

Please do not send passwords, payment card details, or sensitive personal records through the contact form.

Information collected during a visit

The website and its service providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, referring pages, and the time of a request. This information supports website delivery, troubleshooting, security, and understanding how the site is used.

The site uses Google Analytics to measure visits and interactions, including link clicks, form submission attempts, and signup or resource-request completion events. Analytics can use cookies and related technologies. Learn how Google processes this information in Google’s explanation of data from partner sites.

How information is used

Information is used to deliver requested emails and resources, answer inquiries, maintain subscriber records, operate and improve the website, understand which content and features are useful, and protect forms against spam and abuse.

Service providers and external content

Information is processed through providers that support the website’s hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, and security. Contact-form email is delivered through SendGrid. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to respond to abuse or protect legal rights.

Forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish people from automated abuse. Verification involves sending a security token and the visitor’s IP address to Cloudflare. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum for information about its processing.

Some learning resources embed videos from YouTube or TED. The site also loads assets such as fonts, icons, and images from external providers. When your browser loads these resources, the provider receives connection information and may process information under its own privacy policy. YouTube videos use its privacy-enhanced embed domain, which does not eliminate all data collection.

Following links to company websites, booking services, social platforms, or downloadable resources takes you to services with their own terms and privacy practices.

Cookies and browser storage

The site uses security mechanisms such as anti-forgery cookies to protect forms. Analytics may also use cookies. Session storage helps avoid counting the same completion event more than once during a browsing session.

The Retellable Leader tools save course progress in your browser’s local storage. The archived version can also store notes and other entries locally. Those saved tool entries are not submitted to this site’s server by the course tools. Embedded media and analytics can still communicate with their providers separately.

You can manage cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Clearing site storage can erase saved course progress and notes; blocking storage or scripts may affect forms and other features. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Email preferences and privacy requests

You can request to stop receiving emails, correct your contact information, or ask for deletion of information you provided by using the contact page. You may also use an unsubscribe option provided in an email. A resource request does not require you to keep receiving future emails.

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Use the contact page to make a request. Verification may be needed before personal information can be released or changed, and legal exceptions may apply.

Retention and security

Subscription records, contact correspondence, and technical records can have different retention periods depending on their purpose and the systems involved. This policy does not specify a single deletion schedule. Contact Bill to ask about a particular record or request its deletion; some records may need to be retained for legal, security, or administrative reasons.

No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Avoid submitting information that is unnecessary for your inquiry. Service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live.

Children’s information

This website is intended for a general adult audience of readers, founders, and leaders, rather than children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact Bill so the situation can be reviewed and the information addressed.

Updates and questions

This policy may be updated as the website or its practices change. Revisions will appear on this page with an updated date. For questions about this policy or your information, contact Bill Wolfe.
